Press Release: For Immediate Release
Surabaya, October 31, 2018
ZAP Clinic upgraded its clinic at Tunjungan Plaza 6 in Surabaya to ZAP Premiere on Wednesday (10/31) afternoon. ZAP Premiere utilizes more advanced laser technology and is operated directly by professional dermatologists and board-certified dermatologists. ZAP Premiere Surabaya is the first and only ZAP Premiere location in East Java. In total, ZAP Clinic has established nine ZAP Premiere locations across Indonesia.
“We upgraded to ZAP Premiere to meet the needs and demands of women in East Java, particularly in Surabaya, who face more complex skin issues. That’s why we want Surabaya’s civil servants to be the first women in Surabaya to experience the benefits of ZAP Premiere laser treatments,” said ZAP Clinic CEO Fadly Sahab.
During the ZAP Premiere Surabaya relaunch event at Tunjungan Plaza on Wednesday (October 31) afternoon, ZAP Clinic also recognized the excellent performance of the Surabaya government. ZAP enhanced the appearance of four female civil servants from various agencies with Erbium laser-based facial skin treatments.
The Erbium laser is one of the world’s leading laser technologies, working on both the outer and inner layers of the skin to significantly improve skin structure and deliver dramatic results. Erbium laser treatments help reduce wrinkles, tighten, smooth, brighten, and rejuvenate the skin. The Erbium laser has been classified as a safe and effective facial treatment by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
ZAP Clinic is the only beauty clinic in Indonesia that is making the most significant investment in laser and light technologies. By 2019, ZAP will have brought in approximately 80 world-class laser machines, such as Fotona and Alma, for use across its 38 ZAP Clinic locations throughout Indonesia.
Over the past five years, laser technology has increasingly become a trend in the beauty industry due to its fast results and minimal risks. This aligns with one of the findings from the 2018 ZAP Beauty Index survey, which showed that 36% of Indonesian women choose to undergo laser facial treatments. This contrasts with the trend five years ago, when Indonesian women preferred conventional facial treatments. The ZAP Beauty Index is a survey of 17,889 female consumers of beauty clinics and products in Indonesia.
Since transitioning from a hair removal clinic to a beauty clinic in 2013, ZAP Clinic has experienced rapid growth that exceeds the beauty industry average. As of October 2018, ZAP Clinic had established 38 locations across 13 cities. The enthusiastic market response has led ZAP to plan on increasing the number of ZAP locations to 50 by the end of 2018. During the first half of 2018, the number of beauty treatments at ZAP reached 561,377, a 48% increase compared to the first half of 2017. This growth far exceeds the average growth rate of the beauty industry, which is only about 12% per year (L’Oreal data, 2016).
