Jakarta, September 3, 2020 – In observance of National Customer Day on September 4, Shell Indonesia is once again raising awareness about the importance of staying healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic through a customer care program titled #ShellPeduli. Through this program, Shell is supporting customers in continuing to prioritize safety and health to prevent the spread of COVID-19 via the “10,000 Masks” initiative and vehicle interior disinfection services.
“We see that many Shell customers have had to resume their daily activities. Therefore, it is important for us to ensure that Shell gas stations remain clean, safe, and comfortable destinations for our customers. To commemorate National Customer Day and as a sign of our support for customers during this pandemic, we are launching the ‘10,000 Masks Campaign’ and offering vehicle disinfection services at our gas stations,” said Waqar Siddiqui, Director of Shell Retail Indonesia.
This vehicle interior disinfection service will be provided free of charge to a total of 500 customers—the first five customers at every Shell gas station, except those in North Sumatra. Meanwhile, free masks will be distributed to the first 100 customers who refuel with Shell on National Customer Day on September 4.
The vehicle interior disinfection service will remain available at Shell gas stations in the Greater Jakarta area, Banten, West Java, and East Java after National Customer Day, at a promotional price of Rp100,000, down from the regular price of Rp150,000. This promotional period will run through October 31, 2020.
The vehicle disinfection process at Shell is carried out through fumigation using a solution containing an antimicrobial formula. Fumigating the car’s interior cleans the cabin, improves air circulation, and ensures a healthy and comfortable environment inside the vehicle. This process takes 20–30 minutes.
Shell Indonesia continues to ensure that the cleanliness, comfort, and safety of Shell gas stations are well maintained. This is achieved through the routine implementation of a seven-step hygiene protocol, ranging from cleaning dispenser nozzles (hoses), door handles, payment terminals, and restrooms, to the implementation of strict health protocols such as maintaining a safe physical distance, providing hand sanitizer, water, and soap, and requiring gas station staff to maintain proper hygiene at all times.
In addition to ensuring cleanliness at its gas stations, Shell Indonesia wants customers to be able to resume their daily routines comfortably by providing public facilities such as restrooms, prayer rooms, and Shell Select and deli2go convenience stores.
