Featuring Heroic Action, iQiyi’s Original Korean Drama ‘Bad and Crazy’ Premieres December 17

One of Media Buffet PR’s clients, iQiyi—a leading Asian entertainment streaming platform—has officially unveiled its latest original Korean drama, *Bad and Crazy*. At a global press conference held on Monday, December 13, 2021, the entire cast was in attendance, including Lee Dong Wook (*Tale of the Nine Tailed*, *Guardian: The Lonely and Great God*), Wi Ha Jun (*Squid Game*, *18 Again*, *Something in the Rain*), Han Ji Eun (*Lovestruck in the City*, *Be Melodramatic*), and Cha Hak Yeon (*Mine*, *Children of Nobody*).

In this drama, Lee Dong Wook plays Ryu Su Yeol, a highly competent police inspector whose professional ethics are called into question. Meanwhile, Wi Ha Jun portrays K, a “crazy” character who is unafraid to uphold justice in a corrupt world by any means necessary. Han Ji Eun plays Lee Hui Gyeom, a hot-tempered narcotics officer. Meanwhile, Cha Hak Yeon portrays O Gyeong Tae, a warm and friendly junior police officer.

At the iQiyi press conference, Lee Dong Wook said that the characters portrayed are unlike anything audiences have seen before. Director Yoo Sun Dong allowed him to fully express every nuance of the character he plays. “He let me act however I thought I should,” said Lee Dong Wook.

On the other hand, Wi Ha Jun chose to take on the challenge of action scenes. Meanwhile, Han Ji Eun, who plays Lee’s ex-girlfriend, explained that the character she portrays tends to be boring. “So I tried not to improvise,” she said. As for Cha Hak Yeon, this series marks his first project since returning from mandatory military service. He revealed that his biggest challenge was growing out his hair.

In addition to the chemistry among the cast, what stands out in the iQiyi original drama, *Bad and Crazy*, is the abundance of thrilling action scenes—such as motorcycle chases and crime-fighting operations—which undoubtedly put the cast’s physical endurance to the test.

Lee Dong Wook admitted he didn’t undergo any special training. He said that thanks to the excellent on-set direction for action and fight scenes, production proceeded safely. However, Lee praised Wi Ha Jun as the best actor because of his strong understanding of the demands of filmmaking.

As for Wi Ha Jun, the toughest part of production for him was the hot weather while he had to film scenes wearing a helmet. “Fighting while wearing a motorcycle helmet was really, really hot!” he said.

It’s not just his heroic action scenes that viewers are looking forward to; the bromance between Lee Dong Wook and Wi Ha Jun is also eagerly anticipated by audiences worldwide, especially fans of these two renowned actors. Speaking about how they built their chemistry, Wi Ha Jun stated that even though their characters couldn’t stand each other at first, they would continue to work well together. Wi revealed that his on-screen chemistry with Lee Dong Wook is very strong and that they work together perfectly.

With themes of action, comedy, romance, and crime, the cast shares many captivating scenes together. When asked which scene left the deepest impression, Lee Dong Wook laughed and replied, “All the scenes left a deep impression on me.” He pointed out that the chemistry between the male leads is not to be missed.

Wi Ha Jun himself considers the high-speed motorcycle chase scene to be the most memorable. As for Han Ji Eun, it’s the scene where she wears a uniform early in the first episode. This is the first time she’s worn a uniform in her career, and Han asked viewers around the world to look forward to it.

True to the series’ title, *Bad and Crazy*, the characters will showcase the “bad” and “crazy” sides of their personalities. When the cast was asked about the wildest things they’ve ever done in real life, Lee Dong Wook joked, “I don’t have any,” before finally revealing that he’s a huge soccer fan and will wake up in the middle of the night to watch live games. “The World Cup is when I’m at my most exhausted,” said Lee Dong Wook.

Then, Wi Ha Jun revealed that he’s obsessed with martial arts techniques because they help him with his work in action scenes. Han Ji Eun described herself as someone who enjoys watching mukbangs and will eat before bed no matter how tired she is. Finally, Cha Hak Yeon shared how he gets so absorbed in his work that he completely loses track of time. When he comes to his senses, he’s surprised to realize that more than ten days have passed.
