A Collaboration Between TV Host Aubry Beer and the Woman Who Runs a Shell Gas Station, Which Has Been Named a Gold Dealer Three Times

Aubry Beer has long been known as a television host, a “Gadis Sampul” finalist, and a “Puteri Indonesia” finalist. However, over the past year, she has ventured into another profession: running a gas station business. Together with her mother, Dewi Sutopo, Aubry operates a Shell gas station in Tanjung Barat, South Jakarta. Aubry is responsible for managing finances, accounting, and marketing, while her mother serves as the gas station owner and manages and oversees the station’s overall operations.

The Shell gas station in Tanjung Barat officially began operations in December 2020 through the Shell Dealer Partnership Program business model. This model allows Shell business partners to own and manage their own gas stations through a joint investment with Shell.

“I really enjoy the journey of managing the Shell gas station business with my mom because she has been my role model and idol since I was a child. Ever since I can remember, Mom has not only been a hardworking professional who has built a career and run many businesses, but she’s also always been there for the family. She’s very good at managing her time, and she does everything with all her heart,” said Aubry about his mother while reflecting on what Mother’s Day means to him.

The collaboration between Aubry Beer and Dewi Sutopo in operating the Shell Tanjung Barat gas station earned them the Gold Dealer award from Shell Indonesia for three consecutive quarters throughout 2021. Shell presents this award to gas station business partners who achieve the best sales results, supported by operational excellence—including the implementation of standard operating procedures for serving customers. This third Gold Dealer award was presented directly by Dian Andyasuri, President Director and Director of Mobility at Shell Indonesia, on December 14, 2021, at the Shell Tanjung Barat gas station.

For Dewi Sutopo, who has nearly thirty years of experience in the oil and gas industry, Shell is very familiar to her, and owning a Shell gas station has long been part of her plan. She previously studied and lived in the Netherlands for fifteen years. During that time, Dewi always used Shell fuel and lubricants, and even collected various Shell merchandise.

As for Aubry, although she had previously often helped her mother with the family business, this time she has greater responsibilities than before. Not only in finance and marketing, she has also begun assisting her mother in training employees and managing inventory. Aubry even eagerly participates in training programs to expand her knowledge. That drive comes from her mother, who has always instilled in her the belief that she can achieve anything she sets her mind to as long as she works hard, stays disciplined, and takes responsibility.

“People might know me better as an entertainer. But my background is actually in finance. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Indonesia and a double degree in the Netherlands, then went on to complete a Master’s program in Management in Indonesia. After that, I managed two businesses of my own, but of course, running this gas station business has been a new experience that I’m enjoying—especially because I’m doing it alongside an inspiring person whom I love,” said Aubry.

According to Aubry, running a gas station business with Shell through the Shell Dealer Partnership Program is a perfect fit for her. There are no significant challenges because everything is handled efficiently and transparently through a digital system. She is also satisfied with the supportive Shell Indonesia team, which is always quick to assist. Furthermore, under the Shell Dealer Partnership Program, partners have the freedom to manage the gas station’s operations, develop non-fuel retail (NFR) businesses, and design various promotional programs.
